Salter & Toomey have provided the following information to further assist our current clients.
The Chapter 13 Trustee that is assigned to all cases filed in the Northern District of Georgia, Rome Division are assigned to Mary Ida Townsen, Chapter 13 Trustee, Suite 300, The Equitable Building, 100 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Ga 30303. The Trustee’s Chapter 13 Brochure can be downloaded for your review.
The National Data Center allows Chapter 13 Debtors to check the status of their chapter 7 or chapter 13 case through the www.13datacenter.com website. To view your case online, you must register for a User Name and Password. Learn how to register.
Remember that the most important part of a chapter 13 case is to make your payments to the trustee. The Bankruptcy Code requires that you start making your payments to the Trustee within 30 days after the filing of your case and continue making your payments every month thereafter. Failure to make the chapter 13 trustee payments is the number 1 reason chapter 13 cases to be dismissed. I can work around a lot of problems that may develop in a chapter 13 but I cannot make your payments for you.
Finally, keep in mind that we have a no client chasing policy. That means that if the ball is in your court, it stays there until we hear back from you. We manage a large number of cases with a small staff, and while we will do our best to contact you with the current status of your case, remember, this is your case and you must take an active role in maintaining contact with our office in reference to its prosecution.
